Phase Eight Equal Opportunites

Phase Eight is committed to providing equal treatment to all job applicants, customers and current and ex-employees, regardless of their sex, race, age, religion or belief, pregnancy or maternity, marital / civil partnership status, disability, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment.

Amongst other things this means that:

Everyone must treat all their colleagues, customers and other people they come into contact with, with the courtesy and respect they deserve
Recruitment, training and promotion opportunities will be based purely on candidates’ abilities, qualifications and experience
Pay rises etc will be awarded fairly based on performance
Disciplinary, grievance and redundancy procedures will be carried out fairly and decisions will be based on objective criteria

Phase Eight encourages all job applicants to complete an equal opportunities monitoring form to ensure the effective operation of this policy and to help us monitor our ethnic make up; completion of this form is voluntary.

All workers have an obligation to uphold this policy and any breaches by any employee may lead to disciplinary action and possible dismissal on the grounds of gross misconduct. In the case of other workers, any breach may result in termination of their contract, without notice. The equal opportunities and harassment policies apply at all times, including when workers are attending a Phase Eight function or taking part in any work-related activities.

All policies and procedures will be monitored to ensure they are in line with Phase Eight’s approach to equal opportunities.
